Teesside Royal Wedding Marks Harry And Meghan’s Big Day

A ROYAL wedding took place at a Teesside care home with attendance from Harry, Meghan and even the Queen.

Residents and staff at The Beeches Care Home, in Stockton-on-Tees, threw a royal wedding party complete with mock ceremony.

The home’s former deputy manager John Drury played Harry, care assistant Natasha Slee was Meghan and resident Alice Smith sat in the front row as Queen Elizabeth.

After being pronounced as Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the royal couple cut a cake made by a family members Ruth Atkinson and Melissa Harris.

The home manager Helen Wood played the bride’s mother, Doria Ragland, and maintenance man John George was the best man, Prince William.

The bridesmaids were supervisors Jessica Brown and Rebecca Wild and the wedding coordinator was administrator Debbie Hall.

Debbie originally came up with the idea of a mock wedding with family member Ruth Atkinson before mentioning it to residents.

She said: “They thought it would be a brilliant thing to do.

“After the ceremony, everyone did a conga out of the chapel, and enjoyed entertainment in the afternoon.

“We all raised a toast to the real happy couple, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, alongside a royal wedding cupcake.”
