Stocks Hall Burscough Has ‘All That Jazz’ On Family Fun Day
Live cabaret performances and stalls were among the attractions keeping guests entertained at a family fun day hosted by Stocks Hall Care Home in Burscough.
Staff and people living at the care home invited the local community to join them, along with family and friends, for a day of good fun and a sing-a-long.
At the opening of the event, Chef Jeanette Skyner said “We’re really proud of what we achieve here at Stocks Hall Burscough, but we couldn’t do it without the support of our wonderful family and friends. We want to take this opportunity to celebrate the fantastic life our residents have here and invite the local public along to share. It is vitally important that people living at the home continue to feel a part of local life and bringing the community into the home in this way is something we all very passionately support.”
Despite the downpours outside, it certainly didn’t dampen the lively spirits inside as everyone clapped and cheered to the sounds of live act, JLH Productions, a trio of ladies who perform musical theatre complete with song, dance, drama and costume.
The audience were treated to a musical journey, captivated by performances to well-known theatre classics such as Chicago’s ‘All That Jazz’, The Wizard of Oz ‘Somewhere over the Rainbow’ and Oliver Twist ‘Consider Yourself’.
Activities Staff, Leanne Chadwick said “There are different levels of ages and communication among all our residents but music performance transcends it all, and we always get a very good response. It is heart-warming to see so many of our residents enjoy an afternoon of fun with their relatives and friends.”
Glorious cakes and refreshments were enjoyed as well as an opportunity to browse round stalls and take part in the raffle draws for some exceptional prizes.
Manager, Sammi Molyneux concluded “What an exceptional day it’s been, everyone has enjoyed themselves and the feedback we have received has been excellent. Thanks to the wonderful staff here at Stocks Hall Burscough who go above and beyond their roles to make events enjoyable for everyone, I am very proud of the team here.”
