Staff At A Gateshead Care Home Have Been Recognised For Caring Excellence At A Prestigious Award Ceremony.

Philips-Court-care-home,-on-Bluebell-ClosePhilips Court care home, on Bluebell Close, was presented with the Care Team Award at the Great North East Care Awards 2015, which took place at the Hilton Hotel, in Gateshead.

Comments from the judging panel, included: “Their external appearance of humour, fun, extrovert personalities, befits the serious work they do in making Philips Court a very rare type of home in the UK. Thoroughly Deserved.”

The awards are part of the Great British Care Awards, which promote best practice within home care and care homes, as well as pay tribute to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.

In addition to winning the Care Team Award, Philips Court staff members Corinne Wood and Gillian Richardson were finalists in the Best Carer and Best Nurse categories, respectively.

Karleen Taylor-Williams, home manager at Philips Court, said: “I am extremely proud of my team for their achievements and this recognition is fully deserved. Our highest priority is to provide residents with quality care and the award win and nominations exemplify the first class care on offer at Philips Court.

“We are always looking at different ways to entertain our residents with various activities and events, which are always well received, and the comments from the judging panel are very pleasing. It was a fantastic evening and hopefully we will celebrate further successes in the future.”

Philips Court provides nursing and residential care for up to 75 people, primarily elderly residents with dementia.
