Skills For Care Seeks Graduates

Skills for Care, home of the National Skills Academy for Social Care, is seeking graduates of any subject to join the National Graduate Management Training Scheme.

The scheme, which is entering its sixth year, aims to bring graduates with the right core values into the sector and place them with host organisations who can give them frontline management experience.

In return, graduates will receive a year’s worth of leadership and management experience, support from a placement supervisor and the National Skills Academy and an £18,000 tax free bursary.

The National Graduate Management Training Scheme was developed to invite caring and compassionate individuals with the ability to perform well in the sector into management roles, where it is hoped they will stay for the duration of their careers.

Praise has been high for the scheme, which has so far brought over a hundred graduates into the sector.

Andrew Cozens, Strategic Advisor for Children, Adults and Health Services at LG Group, says the graduate scheme is a great way to improve the sector.

“The programme brings social care in line with other sectors, in providing a course that is specifically tailored towards advancing careers. By supporting those who have the potential to lead the sector, we will keep the best leaders working in social care.”

Applications for the National Graduate Management Training Scheme are now open until 14 September at 12pm. Please click here for more information, or email graduates@nsasocialcare.co.uk.
