Phil, who previously held the role of Operations Director for 16 years, has helped steer the firm through a series of successes including implementing 3D CAD systems, expanding the company’s custom counter manufacturing capability and developing its contracts department and also securing additional premises to add 40% to production space and capacity.
Phil, 54, of Barnsley, South Yorkshire, said: “I’m excited to be given the opportunity to shape the future whilst maintaining Victor’s position as a market leading manufacturer of commercial catering and retail display equipment. I’m also keen to build a strong management team ensuring that Victor remains a successful business in what will be challenging future years.”
The new team includes Mike O’Shea, previously Manufacturing Manager, who has now joined the board as Manufacturing Director. Four other existing members of staff have also been rewarded with more senior management positions.
Victor manufactures an extensive range of catering equipment suitable for a wide range of organisations, including hotels, schools, hospitals and restaurants. Based in Bradford, West Yorkshire, it now employs more than 100 people.
Phil will devote the next few months to be commercially ‘out and about’ getting to know as many customers as possible and says his immediate plans for the business are to ensure the current sales plan is achieved despite difficult trading conditions following the “testing” post-Brexit vote.
He added: “I will also ensure the company manages to acquire much-needed additional manufacturing and warehouse space and will continue to strengthen the management team with the recruitment of high calibre individuals in key areas of the business.”
In the long-term Phil says he will: “Continue the strategic development for growth by expanding and developing new products in our identified target market sectors of education, healthcare, retail and pub groups.”
Mick, who has left Victor after 15 years as MD, is now looking forward to spending more time travelling, playing golf and watching cricket and football.
The 61-year-old of Mirfield, West Yorkshire, said: “Witnessing the development and commercial growth of Victor over the past 15 years has been a particular highlight and I will especially miss the camaraderie of all my colleagues and the wider catering industry that I have worked in for over 25 years.
“I wish Phil and Victor every success in the future and believe Phil is more than capable to lead Victor from strength to strength.”
