Netley Court Marks Remembrance Day With Members Of Their Local Community!

318 (450x800)Residents and staff at Netley Court care home in Netley Abbey, were delighted to mark Remembrance Day with members of their local community on Sunday 8th November.

Early that morning, the Netley team gathered outside Netley Court care home where they joined a Remembrance Parade on its way to St Edwards Church. They were accompanied by family, friends and neighbours as well as representatives from The Royal British Legion, the local Sea Scouts Association, the local Guides Association, the Police and Fire Services and the Deputy Mayor of Eastleigh – Councillor Des Scott.

Reverend Robert Sanday then held a beautiful Remembrance Day service outside in the church grounds, where one of our lovely residents, Alf Haase, laid Netley Court’s poppy wreath.

Alf then went on to say ‘For a small village, the turnout was amazing! It was very sentimental to me, especially when they read out the names of those who had fallen. I felt very proud to lay the wreath on behalf of my Home, Netley Court.’

Home Manager, Mark Shockledge, also commented ‘It was so lovely to see the Netley Court family be a part of such a wonderful Remembrance Day service … a memorable morning for a memorable day!’

Netley Court is part of the Hartford Care Family of Homes. For more information or to book a visit please call our Home Admissions Advisor, Maggie, on 02380 450320 or visit www.hartfordcare.co.uk.
