Meridian Healthcare Homes Raise Hundreds With Care Home Open Day Events

To celebrate the fourth annual Care Home Open Day, Meridian Healthcare held dozens of events across their care homes, raising hundreds for charity partner Marie Curie in the process.

Residents, relatives and members of the local community enjoyed a range of activities in line with the company’s theme of ‘Right Royal Blooming Great Tea Party’.

Afternoon tea, tea tasting, dancing, cake making and royal cup decorating were just some of the activities enjoyed in Meridian Healthcare’s homes. Acacia Court, near Leeds, had an appearance from Zippy and Big Bird as staff dressed in yellow for the occasion, raising over £100.

It was a day filled with fun and excitement, and a great opportunity for residents, their loved ones, and members of the local community to get together and recognise the important work that care teams do for vulnerable members of our society.

Meridian and HC-One managing director, Paula Keys, said: “We place a high emphasis on building and maintaining relationships with the local community across our homes, so it has been lovely to hear about all of the fantastic events that were held for Care Home Open Day.”
