Lincolnshire Care Home Provider Goes Elf for Alzheimer’s Society

Lincolnshire-Care-Home-Provider-Goes-Elf-for-Alzheimers-SocietyFifty employees from The Orders of St John Care Trust’s Wellingore office took part in, with many donning their very best green and red as part of, Elf Day – a nationwide fundraising event that took place on 16th December.

OSJCT raised over £300 on the day for the Alzheimer’s Society during the event, which included staff dressing as elves for the day; enjoying a lunchtime screening of the Will Ferrell Christmas classic, Elf; and running a festive bake sale and contests including Name The Elf and Guess The Number Of Candy Canes.

Caroline Dunagan, Assistant Operations Director for OSJCT in Lincolnshire, said: “Not only was Elf Day a fantastic way of getting our Wellingore team into the festive spirit by showing off their inner elves, but it also provided an opportunity to give something back this Christmas.

“Providing the right, person centred care and support for our residents living with dementia is very important to us.  All our employees receive dementia care training to enable them to do this.  The Alzheimer’s Society is a charity that complements our Trust-wide dementia strategy perfectly, so fundraising for such a worthy cause in the run up to 25th December was a great way of showing our support.”

To celebrate Elf Day, OSJCT also decorated the office with giant candy canes, as well as elf balloons donated by Party Planet in Lincoln.
