Icknield Court Serves Up A Series Of Treats For Carers’ Week

Princes Risborough-based care home, Icknield Court, run by local charity, The Fremantle Trust, has created a week-long celebration to recognise the vital role played by care workers.

Manager, Antonios Loumousiotis, is keen to support Carers’ Week (12th – 18th June), which  is a national campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlighting the challenges carers face and recognising the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.

The night and day teams at the care home came together on the morning of Monday 12th June to enjoy a delicious cooked breakfast prepared by Elaine Stott, learning and development partner at Icknield Court, and Antonios.

During the week local qualified massage therapist, Michelle Wright, will pay a visit to Icknield Court to enable members of the care team to benefit from some well-deserved pampering. The care home will also recognise the hard work and commitment of the team with a special appreciation day, where colleagues will be presented with a range of rewards for going the extra mile.

The busy itinerary during Carers’ Week includes an opportunity to thank volunteers who give their time to support residents. Icknield Court will also open its gardens to care workers’ families for a special children’s party which will be attended by the local Scout group. The week will be topped off with a ‘pizza and movies night’ for the care team on Friday 16th and a ‘Sunday night takeaway’ for those working through the night to indulge in the treat of their choice.

Commenting on the packed programme, Antonios added: “We wanted to take the opportunity to find a number of imaginative ways to say thank you to our phenomenal team who are so passionate about working in the care sector and always put the families we support at the heart of everything they do. We are looking forward to the week ahead as it really highlights the strong sense of community we all share here at Icknield Court.”
