Highest Rated Residential Care Home In Hampshire

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has found the quality of care provided by Badgers Holt Residential Care Home located in Hythe, Hampshire, to be OUTSTANDING following an inspection in March 2017, as at this date Badgers Holt has the highest rating within Hampshire. Mrs Rayner and her late husband, Fred, took ownership of the home in 1986 and always strived to provide the best of everything to the hundreds of residents that have called it home over the years.

The report noted that relatives and visiting professionals had all praised Mrs Rayner and her wonderful staff for the exceptional care that the home provides. One relative was quoted as saying: “This home stands out a mile, it is not regimented, not clinical. It’s well managed and the staff are really well trained”, while a visiting healthcare professional said: “They are well organised with prescriptions and very proactive with care. The staff know the residents very well which makes my life much easier when I visit. They genuinely seem to care about their residents and are always happy to help and never seem rushed”.

Homes get evaluated against 5 criteria, Inspectors rated Badgers Holt Residential Care Home as Outstanding for being caring, responsive to people’s needs, being Well-led and Effective, while rating it Good for being safe. Badgers Holt has a great standing within the local community and in the past year has helped over 300 young people from the National Citizens Service to learn and develop various skills.

The report also highlights the strength of the management within the home.

Badgers Holt are now once again pushing the boundaries of what is expected of a care home by introducing their own private Badgers Bus to ensure that all their residents can go out and about, whilst being supported by the homes staff.
