Hallmark Care Homes Hosts Empowerment Day For The Care Sector

Hallmark1Award-winning care provider, Hallmark Care Homes hosted an empowerment day for the care sector last month (June), encouraging 220 people from eight different care providers and organisations to realise their potential and become more motivated to deliver outstanding care for residents.

Attendees on the day included the full range of team members that work in care homes such as General Managers, Care Assistants, Laundry Assistants, Receptionists and a number of high profile individuals from the sector involved in banking, recruitment and agency.

Hosted by Hallmark Care Homes Managing Director and Chair of Care England, Avnish Goyal, the seminar encouraged attendees including those from The Care Club, which is an association of care home owners who work together to share ideas and raise standards within their organisations, to evaluate their work and personal life by providing tools to empower them to grow and work better as a team.

Throughout the morning, Avnish, who won ‘Care Personality of the Year’ at last year’s National Care Awards, shared his life story to showcase to others that if you believe in yourself you can achieve your goals. He then stressed the importance of being a leader to others in the care industry, explaining that everyone can be a leader regardless of their role by using the four Fish! Philosophy principles; ‘be there’, ‘play’, ‘make their day’ and ‘choose your attitude.’

In the afternoon Avnish, was joined by transformation specialist Jermaine Harris, who shared his secrets to taking control of your career, body and life and internationally known speaker Jo Davison who talked about the famous Blue Cow concept and the importance of being positive in the workplace.

Managing Directors and team members from Majesticare, Precious Homes, Evolve Care Group, Athena Care Homes, Carehome.co.uk, Oomph!, SweetTree, Silvercrest and Westgate Healthcare were amongst the many guests who attended.

Avnish Goyal, Managing Director of Hallmark Care Homes said: “We had an amazing turn out at our ninth empowerment day which we have been running in Hallmark for a couple of years now, with this being the second event for the care sector. It’s really important to look after your team and empower them to realise that, personally and professionally, they can become leaders.

“People who work in the care sector are so busy looking after others, they sometimes forget to look after themselves. The seminar is aimed at all team members and we encourage owners and managers to attend with their teams. If you want your team to release their potential and be on the road to becoming outstanding, they have to understand what is holding them back, make a change and be positive.”

Hallmark Care Homes’ next Empowerment Day for the Care Sector will be on Tuesday 11th October at the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel and Conference Centre at London Heathrow.

If you want to join Hallmark in empowering yourself and your teams to give the best possible care, please contact Learning and Development Manager Emma Brown on 01277 655 655 or Emma.Brown@hallmarkcarehomes.co.uk
