Hallmark Care Home Carer From Wales Shortlisted For National Award

HallmarkA Hallmark Care Home carer from Wales has been shortlisted for a national care award.

Katyann Price, 31, who works for Greenhill Manor Care Home, Hallmark Care Home’s facility in Merthyr, Wales has been shortlisted for the ‘The Support Worker’ category at the prestigious National Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards.

The National Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards, seeks to celebrate excellence in the support for people with learning disabilities and aims to pay tribute to those individuals or organisations who excel in providing quality care.

Katyann Price, 31 said: “I am absolutely delighted to have been chosen as a finalist, I am currently working with the young physically disabled community at Greenhill Manor where I have been a team member for the last six years and I thoroughly love my role and what I do for the residents.

“Since working on the community I have learnt so much about who I am and what life is really about. Work is like my second home and the residents feel like my family. I’m dedicated to my job and even when I am off I’m still here visiting, taking a resident out for the day or taking part in activities.”

In the dementia, nursing and young physically disabled care home, Katyann has been praised by residents, relatives and team members for the excellent relationship-centred care she delivers and her warm presence.

Nominating her for the award, general manager at Greenhill Manor, Mark McCole said: “Katyann is a credit to our team, she always goes above and beyond in all aspects of her role.

“She is a role model for her colleagues and always has a smile that brightens up everybody’s day. I am extremely pleased that Katyann is being recognised for her daily efforts.”

The 2016 winners will be named at a glittering ceremony at the ICC in Birmingham on Thursday 14th July.
