Great Wall of China Walk Marks 1-Year Charity Partnership

Nurseplus’ Managing Director has committed to the Great Wall of China Trek, marking a one-year partnership with disability charity Leonard Cheshire.

Pamela Bruce is training hard for the 6,000km, five-day hike, which will make its way across mountains, through valleys and along the impressive man-made structure.

The national healthcare organisation has pledged to raise £50k over two years and is  working hard to reach the target with an impressive £21k already donated.

Staff and clients have been busy with fundraising activities including marathons, bake sales, coffee mornings and dress down days, with lots more already planned for the remaining year.

Pamela commented, “This charitable partnership is a fantastic achievement for all of us at Nurseplus. We take our social responsibility very seriously and to help with the donations, I decided to take part in the China Trek as a celebration of our one year milestone.

“We work closely with Leonard Cheshire through the healthcare services we provide, and we are pleased to be able to extend this working relationship by providing valuable fundraising for the charity.”

Many of Leonard Cheshire’s valuable services share geographical locations with Nurse Plus branches, which has provided opportunities for local fundraising, as well as relationships, to develop.

The national healthcare organisation has fundraised for local and national charities since it was established in 2005, but this is its first official charitable partnership.
