Four Seasons Health Care raises over £10,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support

Staff and residents from Four Seasons Health Care have raised a staggering £10,724.41 for Macmillan Cancer Support by taking part in the charity’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning initiative. This amount could help pay for two Macmillan nurses for a month; providing crucial help for people living with cancer and their families.

Across the UK, 162 Four Seasons care homes hosted a coffee morning. Annette Embleton, a care assistant at Redwell Hills Care Home in County Durham, collected over £500 after shaving off her hair.

Staff and residents along with their friends and family and members of the local community were invited to their local participating care home to enjoy coffee and cakes, whilst making donations.

Nationwide the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning raised a record breaking £20 million for Macmillan. These funds will be used to provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support for those living with cancer.

Rebecca Goldstein, Marketing Assistant for Four Seasons Health Care who coordinated the nationwide fundraising programme, commented: “2013 has been our most successful fundraising year to date, with more of our care homes participating than ever before. We’re thrilled that our residents and staff have rallied around to make the Macmillan coffee mornings an enjoyable and successful fundraising event.”
