Facebook Fame For Ingleby Care Home Resident

facebookA STOCKTON care home resident has become an internet sensation after a video of her singing a duet of “White Christmas” went viral on Facebook.

Dorothy Hatfield, 85, performed alongside entertainer Norman Thompson as part of Ingleby Care Home’s Christmas celebrations and activities.

Since it was shared on the social network, with permission from Dorothy’s family, the clip has been watched over 9,500 times.

Kirsty Walsh, activities coordinator at Ingleby Care Home, on Lamb Lane, Ingleby Barwick, said: “It was a magic moment when Dorothy took to the mic with Norman. I’m so glad it was caught on film.

“It has touched the hearts of everyone working at the care home so we had to share it. The response we’ve had online is amazing. So many lovely comments.”

Also part of the festive celebrations, the care home’s Christmas fair raised over £282 for the resident’s fund, from a tombola, sweets and Christmas card sales as well as donations.
