Disney Day At Wincanton Care Home Raises Funds For The Alzheimer’s Society

Disney-Day-At-Wincanton-Care-Home-A Wincanton care home has raised moneyfor charity after taking inspiration from Disney, as it hosted a fun-filled Disney themed day.

Members of staff and residents at Elliscombe House Nursing Home, along with their relatives, dressed up as their favourite Disney characters for the day, with all proceeds going towards the Alzheimer’s Society.

The Disney-themed day also included a Disney musical quiz and finger buffet with people dressed in costumes ranging from Minnie Mouse to Buzz Lightyear with two Mary Poppins and a Burt.

The Alzheimer’s Society works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Sharon Daley, Peripatetic Manager, said: “The Disney day was a fantastic occasion, which was enjoyed by everyone. It was great to see people get in the spirit of the day and dress up as their favourite characters.

“We are delighted to support such a fantastic charity as the Alzheimer’s Society, which does so much for people diagnosed with the condition, and I would like to thank everyone who showed their support and donated.”

Based on Higher Holton, Elliscombe House provides nursing care for up to 40 elderly residents, some of whom require dementia care. The home prides itself on providing the highest quality of care possible, in a safe and homely environment.

The care home is proud to now be part of Caspia Care, under the management of experienced care operator Healthcare Management Solutions.
