Caremark Aylesbury Get Their Bake-On!
On Thursday 17th May, it’s World Baking Day – possibly the tastiest day of the year! To celebrate, Janis Anderson and her team at Caremark Aylesbury are hosting their very own Bake-off, and everyone’s invited!
The local home care provider has invited (or is that challenged?!) anyone who wants to take part to bake a cake, cookie or any savoury item and take it to the offices at The Firs on High Street in Whitchurch. At 12 noon, the judges will be sampling the masterpieces before announcing the winners.
Judging the tasty treats are Caremark HR Co-ordinator, Dane Taylor and Care Worker, Lauren, and they’ll be joined by Margaret Palin of Whitchurch Women’s Institute. There will be prizes and certificates for the best bake, cookie, decoration and savoury item. Afterwards, there will be a social for everyone; carers, clients and members of the public, so why not pop along and get involved? Tea and coffee will be provided to all who attend as well as anything baked for the competition!
Pictures of the crowned glories will be going up on the Caremark Aylesbury Facebook page throughout the day so tune in for a mouth-watering news-feed!
Janis, 58, has been running Caremark Aylesbury and Wycombe since December 2009. The business now provides over 3000 hours of care per week to local families and employs more than 100 local care workers.
Passionate about making a difference in her community, as well as the fun things like Bake-offs and charity dress-up days, Janice has created an initiative called the ‘Caremark Independence Club’ – a programme specially designed to get vulnerable, and often very lonely, people out of the house and socialising again.
“It’s so important to me that we’re a real part of the community. My goals have always been focussed on having a business that isn’t simply measured by profits but quality of care and a good reputation.
“I can’t wait to try all of the goodies that people create. I know my team in the office are all going to be getting involved and some of our care workers are exceptional cooks so I think we’re all going to be in for a treat… quite literally!”
