Care Home Football Fans Head to the Home of English Football

National home care provider HC-One has been pulling out all the stops to make residents wishes come true at Aston House Care Home in Hayes.

The ‘Grant a Wish’ project was thought up as part of a plan to allow residents to get motivated and take part in activities that are specifically tailored to their desires, or related to the hobbies they undertook when they were younger.

The most recent beneficiaries of the initiative are Kenneth Fisher, Kenneth Simms, Edward Piper and Arthur Smith who were whisked off for a VIP tour of Wembley Stadium this month.

As keen football fans, the four friends shared a ‘wish’ to visit the home of English football and thanks to the effort of Wellbeing Coordinator Laura Baumane and the team at Aston House Care Home, they spent a memorable day experiencing everything that the famous stadium had to offer.

When given the opportunity to hold The FA Cup Kenneth Fisher was filled with emotion and commented “It was a real honour and I won’t forget it. It was one of the best days of my life.”

Several other residents have already benefited from the scheme, participating in day trips out to the park with friends, through to enjoying a pint of Guinness and a fish and chip dinner.
