Avery Healthcare Win Excellence In Training At Laingbuisson Awards

AveryAvery Healthcare is delighted that its comprehensive and sector leading training and development strategy and programmes were recognised with a second prestigious and independent sector award at the 13th annual LaingBuisson Awards on November 15th. Hot on the heels of winning Best for Training and Development at the 2018 Care Home Awards, Avery scooped the Excellence in Training award against some very worthy opposition.

More than 1,000 people were present at the annual awards ceremony which celebrates the best in health and social care. Held in the spectacular ballroom at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, the event was hosted by actor and writer, Alexander Armstrong, who entertained the guests before presenting the Awards with LaingBuisson Chairman, Stephen Dorrell.

Henry Elphick, CEO of LaingBuisson, said: “The LaingBuisson Awards offer providers and advisors the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the most inspiring and innovative work across healthcare and social care in the independent sector. The nominations were hugely impressive and included many deserving projects, organisations and professionals who are dedicated to tremendous health and care causes.”

Sandra Stark, Care and Quality Director for Avery Healthcare, was delighted with the win. “We have the best training and development team in the sector, led superbly by Shelley Parker-Wain, who has designed and implemented class-leading programmes for all levels of care and non-care staff, and has innovated with such strategies as the Advance Senior Carer program; that has been accredited by none other than City & Guilds and leads the sector in helping to support the pressure on nurses and adjusts the skills mix. Excitingly, there’s more to come from this amazing team”.
