12 Care Village Staff Members Set for Success in Prestigious Awards

12 staff members from specialist care village operator, Belong, have been shortlisted in the prestigious Great North West Care Awards, which aim to pay tribute to individuals who have demonstrated excellence within the sector.

Staff members from four of Belong’s six villages across the North West, have been shortlisted for the prestigious awards. Crewe Experience Coordinator, Sharon Bull, aged 50, of Nantwich, has been shortlisted in the coveted ‘Care Home Activity Organiser’ category. Cath Donlan, 50, of the Warrington village, has been shortlisted for ‘The Good Nurse Award’ and her colleague, Sian Ryland, 26, of St. Helens, for the ‘Care Innovator Award’. Set for success are also three members of the Wigan team; Rebecca Woodcock, 37, of Atherton, has been shortlisted for ‘The Registered Manager Award’, Jeff Hilton, aged 62, from Ince, Wigan, for the ‘The Ancillary Worker Award’ and Lana Welsh, 32, of Atherton, for the ‘Good Nurse Award’.

The operator’s Macclesfield team has come in for significant praise, with six care givers shortlisted for awards; Chloe Thorley, aged 29, from Bollington, is a candidate for the ‘Care Home Cook/ Chef Award’ 17-year-old Sophie Barber, from Macclesfield, has been shortlisted for ‘The Care Newcomer Award’ and Chloe Wynn, 25, of Bramhall, for ‘The Dementia Carer Award’. Whilst, Lead Nurse Dave Shaw, 55, of Marple, is in the running for ‘The Good Nurse Award,’ and, Helen Marsden, 37, from Buxton, for ‘The Frontline Leaders Award.’

Finally, Belong Macclesfield’s domiciliary care service manager, Karen Burgess, 50, of Macclesfield, has been shortlisted for ‘The Home Care Registered Manager Award’.

The care village operator specialises in supporting people with dementia, and 24-hour care is provided in extended family sized households, with modern open plan layouts specially designed around the needs of people with dementia.
